Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Njangycommunity finance platform, including ROSCA (Rotating Savings and Credit Association) houses, savings accounts, peer-to-peer loans, sponsorships, raffles, and all related services (the "Services"). By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Njangy is a financial technology platform that facilitates community-based savings and lending. We are not a bank, credit union, or licensed deposit-taking institution. Funds held in your Njangy wallet are platform credits, not bank deposits, and are not insured by any government deposit insurance scheme.

Eligibility and Account Registration

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Complete identity verification (KYC) via our partner Veriff before accessing financial services
  • Provide truthful, accurate, and current registration information
  • Maintain only one account, multiple accounts are prohibited
  • Not access the Services through automated means (bots, scripts)

Identity verification is mandatory. You will be required to submit a government-issued identification document and complete biometric verification through Veriff before you can participate in houses, savings, loans, or sponsorships.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@njangy.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You are liable for all activity under your account.

Financial Services

ROSCA Houses

Njangyfacilitates Rotating Savings and Credit Associations ("Houses"). When you join a House, you commit to making regular contributions ("plays") according to the House schedule. Each member collects the pool in turn according to a predetermined order. Failure to make timely contributions may result in late fees, penalties, and removal from the House.

Savings

Savings accounts allow you to set aside funds with a defined schedule. Early withdrawal may incur a penalty as a percentage of total saved. Upon maturity, savings are paid out minus any applicable commission.

Loans and Sponsorships

Njangy facilitates peer-to-peer help requests and sponsorships between users. The platform is not the lender, it connects requesters with supporters. Njangy charges a commission on transactions as disclosed in the fee schedule. Sponsors who miss payments may face deactivation after repeated failures (3-strike policy).

Raffles

Raffles are community-run prize draws. Entry fees and prize structures are set by the raffle creator. Njangy may charge a commission on raffle proceeds. All raffle outcomes are determined algorithmically.

Fees and Commissions

Njangy charges commissions on certain transactions to sustain the platform. Commission rates are configurable and disclosed at the point of transaction. Common fees include:

  • House play commissions (percentage of play amount plus any late fees)
  • Savings collection commissions
  • Help/sponsorship payout commissions (e.g., 10% on emergency support payouts)
  • Late play fees (percentage of play amount for overdue contributions)
  • Early savings withdrawal penalties

All fees are deducted from your wallet balance automatically. Fee rates are displayed before you confirm any transaction.

Payments and Wallet

We accept payments via Stripe, PayPal, MTN Mobile Money, and Orange Money. Your Njangy wallet holds platform credits. All credit movements go through the transactions system and are recorded in your history. Credits have no cash value until withdrawn.

Prohibited Activities

  • Using the platform for money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Creating multiple accounts or allowing others to use your account
  • Providing false identity information or fraudulent KYC documents
  • Exploiting bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities
  • Manipulating ROSCA house outcomes or colluding with other members
  • Using automated tools to interact with the Services
  • Abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior toward other users or staff

Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for: violation of these Terms, failed identity verification, suspected fraud or money laundering, regulatory requirements, or inactivity. Outstanding financial obligations (house plays, loan repayments) remain due regardless of account status.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Njangy platform is owned by or licensed to Njangy and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial use only.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Njangy IS NOT A BANK AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE RETURNS ON SAVINGS OR ROSCA PARTICIPATION. PEER-TO-PEER TRANSACTIONS CARRY INHERENT RISK. PAST PERFORMANCE OF HOUSES OR SAVINGS DOES NOT GUARANTEE FUTURE RESULTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Njangy SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSSES FROM PEER-TO-PEER TRANSACTIONS, HOUSE DEFAULTS, OR LATE PAYMENTS BY OTHER MEMBERS.

Dispute Resolution

Disputes should first be raised via support@njangy.com. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration. Arbitration is individual only, class actions are not permitted.

Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes are communicated via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
